Studying at Edinburgh University, I graduated with a first class BSc (Hons) in pathology in 2003 and MB ChB (Hons) in 2006. I won the gold medals in both Surgery and Medicine. My surgical training continued in south east Scotland including 2 years working under Prof Mike Dixon OBE at the Edinburgh Breast Unit. I am a consultant oncoplastic breast surgeon working in NHS Fife and NHS Forth Valley. On the GMC specialist register, I have been a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh since 2018. I completed a prestigious National Oncoplastic Fellowship at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield. As well as surgery for breast cancer and benign breast disease, I specialise in breast reconstruction, including implant reconstruction, pedicled flap (LD) and fat transfer. I undertake careful cosmetic breast surgery including augmentation, breast reduction and breast lift (mastopexy). In addition, I perform procedures for correcting asymmetry following breast cancer treatment and revisional breast surgery. This includes salvage of breasts following surgical complications and removal of breast implants with total capsulectomy. Following training in chest wall reconstruction for gender reassignment, I work to the guidelines of the World Professional Association of Transgender Health (WPATH). I care a great deal about my patients: getting you the right treatment and giving you a result that you are happy with. Working closely with my colleagues in radiology, pathology and oncology, I make decisions about management. My team of nurses and allied professionals in theatre and the outpatient clinic all give you the best care possible.
